I didn’t want to clutter up the other thread.
I agree with you and i’m glad Nana Visitor put the kibosh on the writers creating a romance with a tyrant who participated in genocide against her people. I also find it fascinating that DS9 took two thinly written species from TNG (particularly with regard the Ferengi) and turned them into multi-layered characters.
