Absolutely true…
Shipping “Garashir” has been a thing for years now. Most of the Trekkers/Trekkies I’ve known already knew about the executive meddling that nixed anything beyond flirting on-screen… and weren’t happy about it. (Yeah, my online Trek circles are largely left or left-leaning. I like that.) The actors themselves seem to approve, so why not go for it?
I haven’t seen the episode myself yet, the online group I’m watching Lower Decks with hasn’t gotten to the last season. But I’ve seen some carefully spoiler-free posts of celebration… and I’m happy too.
(I’m less bothered about the cleavage than the implied prissy attitude. I’ll take the snark back if the video turns out to be supportive, but it doesn’t look like it was. There’s no reason bi and/or gay characters can’t exist in the Trek universe, Jadzia Dax made it canon in the same series, and there’s the whole Mirror universe thing…)
Exactly…
Yeah, it just comes off as very much a “pick me” cool girl kind of vibe… I don’t care normally either of course, but the vibe she seems to be going for is very anti-“woke”, anti-feminist sort of thing meant to attract dudes to her channel who have similar political views and think star trek is all of a sudden “woke”…
Fuck her.
Not in the good way.
Never went away…
One Dax, two Daxi.
If you’re going to be like that, then it’s one Dax, two Dages.
For the first time, a Star Trek movie is joining the list, in part because of enthusiastic lobbying from fans.
Clitoropodes?
The Latin plural (inherited from Greek) is clitorides, pronounced with the same stress pattern as octopodes.
