Election Fallout

It’s good to remember that when you hear

If you believe certain accounts on TikTok

that means that it is often literally children (and very recent adults) that have come up with that stuff and that are spreading it

During the post-election blame game I was surprised at some divide-and-conquer definitions of an elitist (anyone with a college degree :astonished:). This discussion between Jon Stewart and Sarah Smarsh about class, identity, and messaging contained some great points / ideas for moving forward:

The ideas that the GOP owns the position of being considered anti-establishment (by disrupting/creating chaos, then claiming that what they just broke never worked) and being on the side of their victims (by repeating fake messages of sympathy for the beatings they keep giving) were echoed by Robert Reich:

:venezuela: never raised taxes to the levels of :denmark:. They collapsed because Maduro put his cronies in, who couldn’t do anything other than be loyal to the boss.*

Seen this in other places as well, including one whose main business line was declared to be tax evasion and which has barely earned a penny since…

Why did he think Harris would win, and what went wrong? “The keys are premised on the proposition that a rational, pragmatic electorate decides whether the White House party has governed well enough to get another four years,”

Yeah, how did he manage to ever get a single one right?
