There are only two types of political science professor right now:

(1) those with a haunted look in their eyes, their voices sounding like they should really be speaking to a therapist instead of a classroom full of students right now.

(2) absolute psychopaths.

Not just political scientists, either… that could apply to historians.

allow me to share an article of mine that might help make sense of the next four years. you can skip the final part about what Congress can do to protect governmental programs from sabotage, because, well, congress had four years and didn’t do crap.

Data Analysts with the Election Truth Alliance (ETA), a non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to election analysis, dialogue, and action, have completed an independent investigation of ballot-level voting data in Clark County, Nevada, for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.

This analysis has identified patterns that are consistent with vote manipulation, as has been seen in countries with confirmed election interference. (ie. Georgia, Russia

Trump did say this a few days ago:

Of course, if someone had a chance to press him on that, he’d likely say that what Musk did there was make sure the count was accurate, and if Musk hadn’t done that, the commie Dem attempts to steal votes – which was happening everywhere, you wouldn’t believe, just everywhere! – would have succeeded.

It is really amusing that a simple plea to be merciful by a Christian religious figure is taken as an outrageous personal attack by Trumpy and the GOP.

And according to computer software engineers at Twitter, Leon couldn’t code his way out of anything.

I think he’s thanking Leon for buying PA votes with that stupid lottery/paid spokespeople scam (or whatever-the-hell Leon ended up calling the scam).

Now the Clark County NV issue sounds hinky, but I also think there were a lot of service workers who bought into the whole Dump thing. So who knows?

I’m not sure why it would matter if he did say flat out “yes, we cheated in this exact way, in these exact areas, and here’s the receipts to prove we did it.” At this point I’m quite sure nothing would change, no one involved would be held responsible, and he’d still be in the White House. The Democrats would say “aw shucks, you sure did pull one over on us,” but they wouldn’t actually do anything because “decorum.”

The distinction between Election Day and early voting ballots is intriguing, but unfortunately the Drop Off voting count (which was observed across multiple states, notably North Carolina) is very difficult to prove as a hack instead of just voters who don’t like the candidate.

I would also like to see the same kind of analysis in Pennsylvania and Michigan before raising too much of a stink.

If the problem is with tabulation machines, which tend to be airgapped, how were they hacked? There should be a way to track down anyone who had access to them in order to make a really short list of potential hackers. It’s not like Elno personally visited Nevada to hack their voting machines.

He wouldn’t need to. He’d only need a few competent coders who are True Believers and/or accept ridiculous sums of crypto and enough access to the machines to know how they work and how to corrupt their vote counts. And ultimately, I think that’s where the problem with the hypothesis lies. If a couple of swing states had gone unexpectedly for T**** and it was enough for him to barely win, then that would make this more likely. But somehow hacking very different systems across a dozen states with different security measures for their machines…that’s approaching the edge of belief. I thought it could be much more feasible to human-hack the vote count for a relatively short period of time, just enough to get cert in the states and cross the Safe Harbor date, than to achieve a lasting change of the actual vote count.

The Art of Simple Sabotage

https://www.cia.gov/stories/story/the-art-of-simple-sabotage/

The rascally spies of OSS knew a thing or two about mischief making, especially when it came to undermining America’s enemies in World War II. One of their more imaginative ideas was to train everyday citizens in the art of simple sabotage.

Thus, the “Simple Sabotage Field Manual” was born.

Interesting that the CIA hasn’t taken that page down yet…
