Elections 2023-2024

No “mistake” here;

I know exactly what kind of country I live in; I have ever since the election of 2000.

Still… I held onto a glimmer of hope anyway, like it was a fire ax:

I hope the current justice department can find those responsible and throw every book they’ve got at these monsters. While we still have both a functioning justice department and books to throw.

That’s the line they’re using. My daughter confirmed her signature was correct. It’s just a great excuse to make it seem like the young progressives messed up. Hard to prove something so subjective, you know?

So once again, “The Handmaid’s Tale” has accurate details!

I wonder how Jimmy Carter is doing today. Hoping you’re okay!

As can be.

I’m thinking about Jimmy a lot since the election was called. I’m sure he’s heartbroken…

A million times, ^THIS. We are surrounded by hate-filled ignorant assholes, I hold them responsible for what they have wrought.

This notion of GOP supporters never having agency reminds me a lot of patriarchy. Men want to strip women of their agency while simultaneously never taking responsibility for their own thoughts, emotions or actions - constantly surrendering their own agency.

That’s great!

I remember feeling so bizarre in 2022 when I went to vote and we had the ballot measures “Prohibit slavery and indentured servitude in state constitution” and “Provide a state constitutional right to personal reproductive autonomy” (both of which passed overwhelmingly). Just was kinda mind-blowing to me that those were things we’d be voting about in the 21st century. Like are these things really even in question anymore?

Now it’s so clear that we really do need those things in writing.

I remember this period after the election in 2016. The endless political ads disappeared, and Trump was off the TV news.

Things seemed to return to normal. Was the last year some weird, exhausting dream? Sadly, no.

PSA: (I’m sure there is authenticity in this movement, however…) Please keep in mind that TikTok has been ordered out of :canada: (but not blocked) because of :cn:'s adverse influence. This, at the advice of our spy services.

Chaos and aggravation is :cn:'s objective, and they have resources to try lots of things. Their objective is to maximize the self-inflicted damage at our end.

I have no doubt that many echoing the sentiments are sincere. I’d treat anything organized on TikTok with an antiseptic layer of salt, for your own safety, knowing that all information related to it is firmly in :cn: MSS hands.

All I got was the widespread standard:

The sheer stupidity of their intimidation attempts is mind-boggling. “We only know of one illegal act” - really, only one? And “your neighbors, community, young children and women”? Because young children and women aren’t part of the community or, what’s the message there?

Reported to the USPS, of course.
