The question is whether or not such language will make a difference…
I’m sure most of the women who support Trump would be OK with that statement.
Yeah, they are a lost cause… I wonder about the people who are like “well, but the economy was better back then” (which, it wasn’t after the pandemic started, but whatevs)… Of course, they could all be lyin’ and really into the racism and misogyny part of things.
God I hate this timeline.
Certainly seems a more fun approach than buying an ad on the AOL website.
My wife wanted to vote on election day instead of doing vote by mail. But she has to work that day and doesn’t want to stand in line after work, so she decided to send in her ballot anyway.
Only she’s hesitant to do so, because what if it doesn’t get there? So she had decided to use one of the dropboxes instead. And now because of this story, she’s afraid to do that.
So I told her just go hand it in at the town clerk’s office and she’s planning to do that tomorrow.
Can’t let your fear of voter suppression cause you to suppress your own vote.
Precisely. I mean, I didn’t know these boxes had built-in fire suppression until this story. Now I feel even better about them!
Even before the pandemic, T**** had slowed the growth he had inherited from Obama. He was handed 3.5-4% GDP growth and turned it into 2.5%…then 2%…then 1%…then pandemic and it went to -20%.
T**** did what all GOP administrations do - crash the economy, slowly at first, then rapidly. Shrub did it before him and Regan/Bush did it before him.
Exactly… but of course, people aren’t going to look at pre-pandemic numbers, but they’ll go by pre-pandemic feels…
Pretty much ever modern republican since Ford… maybe Nixon? When did stagflation start?
Every Republican president since Grant crashed the economy.
Hmmm… What about Eisenhower?
He might be the except to prove the rule?
By continuing the successful programs of his Democratic predecessors.
Oh for sure, but I think he didn’t crash the economy is my point.
Boom:
Was he really responsible for that, though? Looking at the date, this is in part due several factors, including the end of the first GI bill that kept the cost of loans low and a general recession… Hardly seems like he “crashed” the economy in the same way other republican presidents did?
Or it could be said, the economy was so strong that even he couldn’t crash it.
I generally like Eisenhower, but it still happened.
