That’s where the socialism comes in? Or his wife being an artist? I’m very confused, but I guess this really shows the problems with using random fetish material to illustrate a supposed dystopia. It’s really hard to tell what parts of it are supposed to be relevant, and just how delusional the poster is.
I guess it’s too late, but I don’t see why Cuomo didn’t simply run as a Republican.
Oh, this one isn’t scared of him being Muslim, it’s scared of him being woke. Woke people will tell you that sexy women aren’t actually men’s property. It follows that they must be men’s owners…you know, if you are the sort of person who can’t even imagine equality, just different people at the top of the wheel.
Being scared of him being Muslim would have separate and generally incompatible visions, but so long as none of them have people like Drew in charge, I’m sure the inconsistency doesn’t matter to them.
Did not realize this, but here are Zohran Mamdani’s parents…
I’ve read Good Muslim, Bad Muslim - an excellent book…
And I saw Mississippi Masala…
I like that movie! With a young Denzel.
The director, a woman, made one about a wedding that I remember being beautifully filmed, but not as good in the story department.
Mamdani will be on MSNBC Jen Psaki shortly.
I’ve reconsidered this. I don’t actually think it’s because he’s Muslim. Well . . . that’s part of it, I’m sure. I think they’re freaking out because if Democrats nationally finally learn from this result that moving to the center is NOT actually the best strategy and that throwing historically disadvantaged groups under the bus is not necessary to win, they’re cooked. Otherwise, there’s no reason for national level MAGA conservatives across the country to be freaking out so much about the mayoral election in NYC. They’re scared because a progressive defeated a Republican-adjacent Democrat, and beat him convincingly. And if that strategy also works in the general election, if Mamdani sheds the historical strategy of moving to the center for the general election and keeps with his progressive message, and wins that election, these assholes are afraid the Democratic Party might finally wake up.
These guys were actually quite good.
I’m not sure what the best strategy is going to be for the midterms. There’s too much variability day-to-day (or even whether there will be elections as we know them).
Assuming we have regular elections, for 2028 I think Dems need to get all on board with the simple message that is clearly working - ending oligarchy. No more billionaires. Just pound that message, 24/7. When other candidates want to talk about immigration, No More Billionaires. When other candidates want to talk about inflation, No More Billionaires. Because ultimately, the T**** administration is all about billionaires - in the Cabinet, in the White House, in Congress. They cannot dodge that. And it resonates with the vast, vast majority of Americans. Even the ones who are temporarily embarrassed millionaires know that they will never be billionaires.
Billionaire plan to stop Mamdani.
You know Bill, Bloomberg’s election IP is probably very outdated.
Go Jerry!
Checking wikipedia, I find that Nadler is Jewish, and so is Brad Lander, who was openly supportive of Mamdani and cross-endorsed him. Which makes all this hysteria about hypothetical antisemitism especially insane!
As much as I agree, I think Dems politicians, especially leadership, have the attention span of a kitten on these topics. I’ll never understand why we were courting moderate Repubs in 2024 rather than fully focusing on mobilizing the main base.
That, and most of them have already been purchased by billionaires. They’re not going to bite the hand that feeds them- they’re not even dogs in this analogy, more like potted plants.
Bernie Sanders also endorsed Mamdani, as have New York State Senator Brad Holyman-Sigel and incoming state comptroller Mark Levine, both of whom are also Jewish.
I do. The main base was covered by by GOTV. Anti-T**** Republicans were supposed to be frosting on the cake.
But that’s the thing. They haven’t. They’ve been purchased by multi-millionaires. Who get to move up the leaderboard if billionaires are knocked down a peg or two.
A three way split of the asshole vote probably doesn’t hurt Mamdani. (Sliwa, Adams & Coumo)
