Yeah, only people who bought the cars really have the excuse of buying before we knew he was completely batshit.
“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” said Bondi.
YIPEEEEEE! That means that everyone in law enforcement will be held personally responsible for their crimes! At last!
California aerospace industry knew about his dangerous brinksmanship and evil lawlessness back to 2006. Injuries, injuries, injuries… and still happening. It was only later with Tesla that his dangerous shit-self became much more widely known. Nineteen years; I assume he was pretty much always “crazy”.
Elon Musk destroys diners!
I heard about Elno’s plans to build a retro-futuristic drive-in diner/recharging station in LA, I didn’t realize it was this far along. The building seems pretty much done, and it seems they’re expecting to open this year (great timing!), but although they’ve been in negotiations to find someone to operate the restaurant portion since 2023, they’ve not found anyone. Apparently people weren’t interested back then because the economics of it didn’t add up, but they really don’t want to be involved with it now. (Even though the basic idea is actually pretty good, and plenty of restaurateurs are excited by the idea.)
Iain Banks wrote him into one of his books as a villain by, what, 2010? But up until pretty recently, you had to be paying attention to know. Now, it’s impossible to avoid the fact.
I wonder if Elno is figuring on (1) absolutely tons and tons of Tesla drivers leveraging their recharging stops into lunch-at-Elno’s and happily returning next time; (2) having enough parking space to not have to depend on part 3; (3) other Tesla drivers not having to (angrily) wait for a recharging (first-come-first-served) spot to open up because of part (1); (4) SoCal Tesla sales increasing enough to keep his restaurant afloat; (5) the food/service being good enough to draw in repeat/new business.
Operate, in what sense, I wonder. Does the “operator” (in Elon-world) have to accept some financial risk also… hence, no one found yet? Anyway, I imagine the novelty initially and briefly drawing in some business, but, with all of Elon’s nasty baggage…
Sans paywall:
Not sure that I want to eat at a place owned by a guy famous for ignoring safety regulations.
Good thing then that he’s going to get rid of all the regulations, isn’t it.
Good for him, I guess.
Unless he actually eats there.
Just his tacit requirements that employees work beyond their pay has caused much stress and accidents. But CA has very stringent laws re workers’ rights, so his restaurant employees should have strong protection, something that Elon hates. Ex: SpaceX at Hawthorne.
Los Angeles is pretty diligent when it comes to citing and fining restaurants re food safety, and I can’t see an Elon restaurant being made an exception----not in SoCal. The regulators/inspectors here would be all over him.
He’ll be just fine. If you can’t trust Robert jr on food safety who can you trust?
Sort of penis captivus? Poor guy.
Maybe there are teeth inside the charging port? Portus dentata (I know, I know, one word is masculine and the other feminine)
Weirdest - but not worst - date ever.
