As a German once said to me in a discussion about how weird American patriotism is, he’s happy to be German. He was very specific that it wasn’t a point of pride. This was some 15 years ago, but that conversation really stuck with me.

Of course, when you see Hyperloop as a move to sabotage plans to build conventional high speed rail links (which potentially would be competition for a carmaker) it is quite the success.
(Another example of how that guy never had one original idea in his entire life. Everything taken from better minds, usually without fully (or at all) understanding any of it, making incompatible parts fit together by brute force and making shit up, forming a crude “philosophy”. Oops, I think I have just described fascism in general. What a coincidence.)
