I don’t watch American TV media, but why do they always fall in line once bombs start to drop? I don’t get it. The run up to Iraq2 was the first time I, as a teenager, got to see how media worked in countries other than Germany and I still don’t understand what happened back then. Why did they just stop being critical as if a switch was flipped? We’re seeing that again, but I’m none the wiser

but seriously, it’s corporate media that is expected to prop up the whims of the ruling, imperial class and provide justification for whatever it wants to do, especially when it comes to foreign policy.

Maybe BBC America will run it? They’ve been consistently better than the UK BBC at actually doing journalism. Still not great, but better.

That’s the old BBC.

The new BBC would shitcan the documentary, just playing the one saying it is good to bomb hospitals, then be “impartial” by only allowing the grieving parents and maimed children to be interviewed by hawks who tell them to their faces that they deserved it.

Then when the parents and children stop agreeing to interviews they let the hawks lie unopposed.

Even in an article that’s praising Mamdani, they can’t stop themselves from downplaying what happened.

On Tuesday night, Zohran Mamdani shocked the political establishment. There are lessons that national Democrats should take from his strong showing in the Democratic primary for mayor of New York City. But I worry they won’t. Democrats have a curiosity problem, and it’s losing us elections.

Strong showing? STRONG SHOWING?!?! That’s what you say when someone loses but exceeded expectations. HE FUCKING WON, you weasels!

Musk really loves the number 42 from Hitchhiker’s Guide, always with a zero after it for some reason. He also often references the number 69, the year The Cloud Minders episode of Star Trek was first aired. And of course many of his fans celebrate 1488 when the Europeans first reached South Africa.
