Gaiman’s alleged conduct toward Pavlovich, the lawsuit claims, was “intended to coerce sexual services and free childcare from Scarlett by causing her to believe that if she did not perform such labor and services, she would suffer serious harm or physical restraint.” Palmer, meanwhile, is said to have known of Gaiman’s history of alleged sexual misconduct and “recklessly disregarded the reality that Defendant Gaiman would so coerce Scarlett.” The complaint lays out in some detail the lawyer’s reasoning for accusing Palmer of negligence. Before Pavlovich began nannying for them, Palmer had told Gaiman that Pavlovich was in an extremely vulnerable state and had a history of mental illness. “Palmer was sufficiently aware that Gaiman was likely to target Scarlett that she warned Gaiman to stay away from Scarlett before she brought Scarlett to Gaiman’s house as a babysitter,” the complaint reads. “Yet Palmer never warned Scarlett of the known danger posed by Gaiman. Had Palmer warned Scarlett of the known danger posed by Gaiman, Scarlett would never have agreed to babysit Palmer’s child at Gaiman’s house.”

On Monday, Scarlett Pavlovich filed a lawsuit in federal court against the author Neil Gaiman on human-trafficking charges under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act

Live and learn I always thought you need to move people from a country to country but:

Somehow I never connected ihmiskauppa (sale of people) to human trafficking.

That was some brilliant police work.

Breaks my heart because i like Amanda Palmer. If she did know Gaiman was a predator and did not warn someone who was vulnerable that is awful.

I’m hitting a paywall for that Vulture article, so…

Yep… also, she did not pay Scarlett for the nannying…

Something about this Neil Gaiman thing just reminds me of the whole Tom Sachs situation from a couple of years ago

Fuuuuuck…

“He apparently bound and gagged himself, shot himself in the head and threw himself in the river. Didn’t leave a note, I guess we’ll never know why he did it. End of investigation.”

Only this one is not a comedy.

And still no charges against the fiance from the sounds of it.

Seriously. I’ve seen enough Forensic Files to know what it means when a man calls 911 and says something like, “My girlfriend fell on a knife”.

Since Pollock was sponsored by the CIA I’m torn between successful, planned subtle psy-op and unintended side effect from glitchy artist mind.

Halli?

I did some work at the base there years ago. Got to climb into an old MiG and a derelict Saab Draken

In this case halli is hall AFAIK a loanword from Swedish. But it can also mean something that is greyish or light brown in color or a name for a horse, cow etc. or grey seal (Halichoerus grypus).

AFAIK those two words halli & halli aren’t related to each other.

ETA:
Grey is harmaa in Finnish and brown is ruskea.
