Pretty straightforward, that.
It looks like he might have had back surgery (if the x-ray is his) and he’s at the age where he would have been kicked off his parents insurance; a possible motive?
He sounds wonderful!
I’ve seen posts here mentioning this book:
Cory Doctorow wrote a short story FIVE YEARS AGO about an online support group for people screwed over by the health system who encourage each other to wage violence against insurance CEOs.
Cory let us publish the the story given the obvious timeliness. It’s free to read here:
Satirical but on point
And yes, so far the guy is a right wing technobro phantasy. But honestly it was what I expected. The idea of taking individual and not collective action, and “being the hero” is very much on point with the right wing now, not so much with the left.
and just what does the McD’s employee get out of recognizing this guy and snitching him out?
full-time hours, so that in 3 months they might get health insurance?
oh, sweet summer child…
Thinks he’s a dark enlightenment intellectual and doesn’t even pluralise lemma correctly
he a’ight.
should be apparent that he is the smarter of mum’s two boys.
Those four novellas are good reads. He also wrote a follow-up article since the shooting…
From the onebox, that sort of stuff is pretty self evident.
However, there is one quote there that is a serious what?
The McDonald’s worker said they saw Mangione around 9.15am ‘acting suspiciously’ in the restaurant, adding that he appeared to have fraudulent documents.
WTF ? Why was a McD employee even looking at docs?
I’m hearing people speculating that the Macdonalds story is a fake, and it’s just a cover for them finding him through surveillance that’s not exactly legal. They then parallel constructed this “lead” to arrest him.
