That bass is wild!
What I did was buy a $100 pawn shop Squire P-Bass and had a guy put in a new nut, toss out the G string, move the rest over and put a cable-thick B string on the bottom.
I’m a synth guy and know jack about guitars, so I thought I was a genius. Turns out it’s a fairly common mod.

I’m a synth type myself… I went for this one partly because it looks super cool, and partly because I can play it sitting at my corner desk with my synth gear all around and not have a headstock to bash into things. It’s just 18" long.
Also even short scale basses felt overly large to me, as a former violin player… so this one is perfect.

Bass, greatbass and contrabass recorders in my studio at the moment. A lot of fun to play, but lord they require a lot of air!
