Yes, and as your link says, they’re “on reserve,” not “in your face” with their militarism, like US local police are.

The point of the meme I quoted, and that you objected to, is that in your face militarized local police are an especially intimidating, suppressive force not faced by potential protesters in France.

I appreciate learning about differing suppressive French forces, but I also think the meme’s point about US conditions – specifically, one reason why US citizens are less likely to jump up and join a protest – is a valid one.

The Greenland flag matches the Canadian flag; both are red and white.

I like the Greenland flag for the image of a low sun with a reflection on the sea (I assume that is the look they were going for).
