Ikea is discontinuing white Billy bookcases! This is an outrage! Particularly since I was heading out today to buy a couple.

They are out of stock of the size I need, so I’m out of luck. I do have two tall ones, and I was going to replace them with the shorter ones. I might be able to cut them down.

Could you order online and have it shipped to your local store? I have no idea if Ikea will do that, but I know Home Depot does…

They’ve been slowly doing this. I had a Billy bookcase that was deeper, really great to store some collectibles of mine and those got discontinued some years ago. Bummer to hear they’re getting rid of the style altogether, especially considering that they’re so well liked.

I was curious what the point of reference would be, because 10k sounds like a lot and i know that has to be bad but how bad is it? Well the big 1906 San Francisco earthquake killed approx 3000 people, so this earthquake in Myanmar is about 3 times more deadly.

Yeah, it’s very bad… here are some ones that are worse…
But when you start talking about numbers in the thousands, it’s really awful.
