An earthquake of 4.1 preliminary magnitude jolted parts of the southern U.S. on Saturday morning.
The quake hit about 13 miles from Greenback, Tennessee, which is about 30 miles south of Knoxville, the U.S. Geological Survey said, around 9 a.m. local time.
Residents in Atlanta and parts of western North Carolina reported on social media feeling the tremors.
The USGS initially reported the earthquake as a 3.5 magnitude quake before increasing it to 4.1.
There were no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries. …
In my lunch break, saw this headline and didn’t have a whole lot of time to find a better thread to post this to. Feel free to put this in a better place
Yeah, good luck with that, Texas…
I know right?
Texas Republican #1: “ I read that over half of all young people hate us. “
Texas Republican #2: “That’s awful! How can we get that to 100% of all young people hating us?”
What’s really crazy to me is that when they say 32 cases is > $90,000 worth, they’re not using it in the sense of “a case of 24 units”. They mean 32 cards, retailing at $3,000 each. And not those special ones aimed at high-end datacenter stuff either, but just consumer cards.
Aimed at people who, by the stats, mostly play 10+ year old games in 1080p. And many of whom, going by forum posts and youtube videos, won’t even use the new features anyway because they don’t want AI-generated frames and don’t want ray-tracing slowing it down. But they simply must have the latest and greatest.

I did run a check on my password manager to see if any of mine were hits for leaked passwords and i seem to be safe/unaffected. I will try again later just in case.
that’s a big ol’ nope.
have you ever tasted that stuff? nasty!
not sure what i’ll do when my cafecito becomes too expensive to maintain my habit, but yerba maté ain’t it!
I tried some yaupon tea being offered at a farmer’s market. It was mixed with various fruit juices. Definitely bitter with some heavy earthy tones, but not undrinkable.
I have not tried it but considering its a native plant that produces caffeine there is opportunity to use it to lower the carbon footprint of coffee production for applications that doesn’t need coffee itself. I’m also not looking to change out my coffee with something else but i’m all for more responsible food sourcing, especially those that use native plants
In a couple of years you’ll be able to get a brain implant and then can choose via an app just whatever anything you ingest tastes like.
This will be the marketing pitch anyway.
In practice, you’ll be lucky if it works half as well as a Nutrimatic drinks dispenser, inducing the sensation of drinking a cup of something that tastes almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.
Same here. Yaupon is definitely an acquired taste.
