Wow. That’s a big difference from the Wolfenstein I remember.
Cheers! In that case, I might grab it for PS4 when I have a chance.
Just finished Trails in the sky: legend of heroes. Second chapter. It’s a great RPG with a really generic super long title, It’s very much an old school jrpg with great difficulty balance and a nice story that plays out over two games but getting back into gaming only recently, it’s just the sort of game I like.
I started playing final Fantasy X on the PC, it’s fun though the voice acting and the story could use some polish. Still I’ve tried to play FF VII and VIII a few times and I’ve just never been able to stick with those games, this one is much more fun.
There is a version of that one in the game on an arcade machine.
That’s good to know. I have the first part, and was kind of enjoying it, but couldn’t figure out what I should do with the orb bit, but I thought was probably important, so I set it aside. That was most of a year ago. I should probably give it another try.
The orb system isn’t that important in the first game, I ignored it for the most part and don’t feel like I missed anything. It’s a little more useful in the second game, but it’s also explained better.
Six months later…
Finally beat the last boss.
I’m currently playing through the Steam version of Okami. I’ve played it before (on both the Playstation 2 and Wii, I think), but I haven’t completed it - each time something’s happened IRL that’s stopped me playing for a while, and when I got back I’d lost the thread of the story.
Love the art style, though… they did an incredible job of mimicking brush-drawn paintings. The control scheme is a bit difficult on a controller, you’d almost think it was purpose-made for the Wii except that it originally came out so much earlier.
I’ve been playing Slay the Spire quite a bit. A single-player, collectible card game roguelike, where you get to see what actions the enemy is going to take on their turn and attempt to counter them. Good times.
40 hours into the witcher 3. Definitely worth the 16 17 quid.
Witcher 3’s in my ‘bought but not yet played’ list, along with the original (enhanced edition) and 2. Looking forward to playing, but I know once I start it’s going to suck me in, so I’m going to need time.
When you mentioned this I looked at the reviews, and some people compared it to Hearthstone, which is free to play, so since then I’ve been playing Hearthstone. It’s kind of like a light version of Magic The Gathering. I like how, instead of MTG’s confusing interrupt cascades, there are ‘secret’ cards, which you play on your turn like any other card, but don’t trigger until later when a condition happens. And not being able to trade/sell/buy cards on a secondary market is an improvement - you have to either earn a card or burn some cards to get one. Will need to loop back around to Slay the Spire.
Steam key for Spec Ops: The Line if anyone would like to grab it - 67GFM-EG8YC-BRTY*
Put the 10th letter of the alphabet in place of the asterisk - I doubt there’s bots crawling for keys here like there are on Reddit etc, but what the hey.
If you’re too late, head on over to the Humble Bundle Store, as it’s being given away there
Grabbed a copy yesterday.
Always like the thanks for your contribution message when I grab a freebe there.
Such a good game. The 3DO version was definitely the best of the versions.
A great game, and wonderful modern take on Heart of Darkness. I highly recommend it. Especially for free!
Yahtzee has an uncharacteristically sobering take on it which was what really made me want to play it after seeing his review.
Thank you. I can safely pass this game.
Not that I play many FPS (since I suck at them) but that is just definitely not up my alley.
I am fine with over the top not obviously reality FPS games over the stuff like Counter Strike and Battlefield turn me off. But Heart Of Darkness has me interested.
It’s definitely not for everyone. It’s got all the standard “realistic FPS” trappings but with an intense story and themes that are very dark.
