“I hate this part of Texas”.
I’m convinced that if we start the first manned mission to Mars, we will find one of those ducks there. At least I’ve never been anywhere on earth where there wasn’t one.
If you are in London DO NOT go to any US candy shops
During the raid, two shop assistants ran off and disappeared via a hidden panel in the basement wall which led to a secret room of suspected illegal goods and an escape exit on to the street
There’s currently a scam going on in DC with tourist trucks where they take advantage of Gen Z not wanting receipts. Buy a $7 dollar ice cream, hit “no receipt” and they charge you $70. If you ask for a receipt, they say sorry, claim to void the other transaction and charge you $7. In actuality, you now have charges for $70 and $7.
Many of these candy shops are suspected money-laundering fronts, apparently the staff and managers disappear regularly and owners frequently change – to avoid business rates. Over-charging must be an incentive scheme.
If you visit Luxembourg take public transport – it’s free.
That sounds interesting! I’ve long wished going to Trier, but it’s quite far away. Hoping the last section of the Eifel railway line will be reopened in time!
Looks amazing.
I was in Trier in 2009-ish, and I loved it. We stayed there for a few days, then rode bicycles down the Moselle river to Koblenz. That was a lovely holiday on many fronts, not the least of which was the flexibility we had. Germans like to plan their holidays in January, as soon as they’ve booked their leave. We started planning in mid-May for an early-June departure. We were worried that all the decent camping spots would be booked out. On my first call I explained the situation in my broken German. The person handling bookings at the campsite stopped me and asked how I was travelling.
“Zwei Leute, zwei Fahrräder, ein Zelt” (two people, two bikes, one tent)
“Ah! Wir haben immer Platz für Fahrräder und Zelte!” (Ah! We always have room for bikes and tents!")
And with that, peace of mind while travelling during peak season became a thing. Awesome.
