Chicagoans: Anyone been to the Salt Shed for a show? Thinking of taking Ms. Shiv to see the Pixies there for our anniversary, but it seems to standing-only admission in the outdoor area.

Lots of great BBQ. My favorite is probably LC’s. Arthur Bryant’s also outstanding. Oh, try Brown & Loe, Grinder’s Pizza, and the Peanut

The shed has been there forever, but it’s still relatively new in its current iteration as a concert space. I honestly have no idea where to look to find local info on that, but I’ll check a bit to see.

ETA: I did a quick read-through and this sounds like an actual person is giving legit advice:

But, it’s from 3 years ago when it first opened while still being renovated.

Saw them last month. It was a great show. I debated whether to go to the Bossanova/Tromp le Monde or greatest hits show (didn’t feel like going both nights) and ended up opting for the greatest hits show.

It was a little short at 1 hour and 20 minutes, but it was song after song with no breaks or anything. Apparently their setlist for their greatest hits show changes every night and Frank calls an audible before each song. There was more “new stuff” than I would have liked but it was still good. I do have some regrets about not having gone to the Bossa/Trompe show though. If you go, choose your night wisely. I scored a Joey Santiago pick at the end as well.
