The big difference is the amount of space. Chicago crams everything into the limited space of Daley plaza so you have to weave through the crowds. Very claustrophobic. The Aurora one has the same number of booths but spread out over easily 3x the space.
That is a cramped space.

Every year during the winter holidays, the San Antonio Botanical Gardens has a light trail. We went for the first time and it was so beautiful.
Nice premise, but with the “Santa is a COMMIE” bit a the end they turned it nicely into a festive little bit of anti-union propaganda.
