The Chicago-based company, a unit of PepsiCo, recalled 2-pound boxes of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix sold in stores in 11 states. Consumers would have been able to buy the affected pancake mix as early as November 2024. The boxes have a UPC code of 30000 65040 and a best-by date of Sept. 13, 2025.
This is like the 3rd or 4th “contains milk” recall recently. What the hell?
Probably more a Healthcare PSA type article rather than a recall. Unless Europe is getting recalled. That would be huge…
I agree with you. I was confused and didn’t know how to post it here.
Search “PSA” The thread is usually at the bottom of the list for some reason.
I will post there. Should I delete it here?
Nah, no biggie. I’m gonna go with “Europe is getting recalled due to unlisted clap!” That works.
It’s like a Cybertruck with rounded edges!
And slightly more useful.
And it will keep your chopped off fingertips cooled while you drive to the hospital to have them grafted back on!
Another one about listeria:
Also, a recently updated article about an increase in recent cases making the news:
Health officials are sounding the alarm about a serious recall that has killed at least 12 people.
The CDC, FDA and public health officials in several states are investigating a multistate outbreak of Listeria infections linked to supplement shakes. …
Yikes! That map and headline need work, too. Not sure if they focused on sick people and didn’t count the dead, or vice versa.
The fact that “nutritional supplements” are utterly unregulated unless they actually kill someone is absolutely indefensible. And it certainly serms like Listeria is in the news every other week. That is pure incompetence on the manufacturing side.
We should go back to calling them quack cures.
Not a vet, but I do have cats, and this caught my eye
The product, 16oz and 24oz frozen Boneless Free Range Chicken Formula raw pet food for cats was distributed to pet food retailers in Washington State and Oregon. The product is frozen in a small round white plastic container with a green label. The affected lots are identified by a sticker on the lid with a number of #22660, #22653, #22641, #22639, #22672 and #22664 with a Best Buy date of 12/25. The recall is widened to include any raw material sharing similar production dates and lot codes as #22660 and #22664. These two lot codes were included in the WSDA’s public health alert on 2/14.
The Food and Drug Administration said several lots of six products containing benzoyl peroxide are being recalled, including Walgreens Acne Control Cleanser, Proactiv Skin Smoothing Exfoliator and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment. The full list and lot numbers was posted online Tuesday.
“slightly” elevated levels, probably low risk, still, benzene is bad juju and should be avoided.
