Today, right now at 4:30pm (well past the meridian), 94ºF with a heat index of 107ºF. And yes, the heat index is right: this is not a mere 94ª. Spent most of the day outside. Time to rehydrate, salt & sweet, and read a book or some other simple indoor activity.
On our road trip I’ve been collecting heat advisory notifications on my weather app from various towns as we pass through. I should have kept them all instead of dismissing them, but I think I’m up to 22 now.
You should come up north where it’s cooler.
Golly! I guess so!
Though you have slightly more breeze. Might not be worth the trade for that 1 degree.
How to cope?
800 ml/27 ounces of the literal OG citrusy, spicy, uplifting, unisex instachill.
The first-ever cologne - made in Koln/Cologne - is still around, which tells you how good it is.
I love pouring some 4711 into a spray bottle to bring along everywhere during summer. I saved my own and the lives of 3 of my GFs with this stuff, when we were out together on a really steamy summer night. I spritzed their backs when needed and got profuse thanks in return.
Toronto is supposed to go up to 97 tomorrow. It’s currently 93 (feels like 113)
It looks like we lucked out (relatively speaking) yesterday in Mpls, and only went up to 96.1 F for temperature, and 106 F for the heat index. Which is still plenty hot, but every degree less than predicted feels like a reprieve.
Today’s prediction is for the same as we actually experienced yesterday.
Currently, it’s 94 F temp, and 104 F heat index. And sunny. But breezy!
I hate to tell you all. We’ve had a resurgence of April weather, almost march-like. Cool days, cold nights, drizzly rain.
Sorry!
We’re not getting hit with the heat wave yet down here, but that’s coming later in the week. It’s hot enough as it is… Lucky I can stay inside at least.
Unfortunately, the rain isn’t extending far enough East to put out the fires in the Gorge. The cooler temps and lower winds are helping the fire crews, though.
Yikes! I hope you can stay cool. I think today was peak heat for the week up here. Tomorrow should be thunderstorms again.
It’s supposed to come down after Tuesday. I am concerned about my next door neighbour, who has no a/c and who has a middle-aged/senior pug.
I have a heat pump, so I have a/c.
The climate crisis is a buncha made-up bullshit, obviously. My whole life, every summer night has been 85 w/a 90 heat index around 2AM. Uh huh.
But seriously, folks, it never reached 90 here in the summer when I was a little kid, and while the winters rarely had subzero temps, it stayed below freezing all winter long. Snow first appeared in November, was often deep enough to be over my head, and it stuck around until at least February.
We’re done playing with the heat wave!
But we won’t just take the heat and go home. You folks to the east can play with it now!
