I’ve been using a weighted blanket for a year or so now, and I think it helps me sleep better. I think it’s because I move around less during the night. And it does feel more cozy!
If I put my cat under a weighted blanket will he settle down and let me sleep?
I actually want the opposite of a weighted blanket, like an inflatable tent blanket or something.
I’ve never heard of a weighted cat blanket, but some quick goggling suggests that while they do exist, they pose some risks. Blanket carefully!
I’m told that I sleep like a furnace, so I use a couple of my granny’s afghans, which are warm but also breathe. Towards the morning, if I’m cold, I pull another cover over my legs up to the knees.
For me, sleeping too warm tends to cause muscle cramps, which is not a fun way to start the day.
Yeah, a weighted blanket gets pretty hot in the summer.
They have some chunky knit weighted blankets for the summer, i have debated on getting one. Here’s one example, though i’m sure you can find cheaper alternatives
Ouh, fancy afghans! Whippets not good enough for us, are they? Luxury!
At first I thought this was about dog breeds. But then I Googled whippets.
So that’s what Devo was singing about. The song make so much more sense now…
The swivel arm is brilliant!
That looks like one of a set we got maybe 30 years ago. We tossed them when we realized they shouldn’t smell like deteriorating plastic.
I do miss a lot of the tupperware stuff my mom had, but i’ve definitely been trying my best to use less and less plastic containers for food
What do you use instead?
Depends on what it is, food-wise. Sometimes i’ll make stuff in metal mixing bowls that come with lids, or i will use glass/pyrex containers. For kitchen tools i’ve been using wood, silicone and metal, but there’s more things in the kitchen that i need to swap away from plastic but slowly replacing them as i can afford it
Nothing. No leftovers. I eat it all right away.
Same here, though only Pyrex. No sitting in plastic for my food! I should look into metal containers.
