Honestly that’s my preferred format as well, despite the fact that I’m American and have lived here 51/54th of my life! I think it’s the autism, but I’ve never been able to easily parse “mm/dd” (or worse: “mm/dd/yy”) format at least partially because I want it to be an ascending sequence.
