Love in the Time of COVID-19

Had to venture out for groceries and since a new supermarket had opened up the next town over, we thought we’d take a look.

I would say the percentage of people wearing masks was around 75%. Perhaps higher.

The other stores we usually shop at might hit 50%.

Sounds good - is it a chain or local?

Thanks!

Unfortunately nowhere near any place I go, but it’s good to know to recommend to others.

Honestly, I’m so used to hearing conservatives blaming all ills on a flood of immigrants, that I was more distressed by the blanket assertion that scientists had created the virus. And when I pushed back on that, I got “What are you talking about? They had a whole hearing about this!” :man_facepalming:

The major (and very easily forseeable and preventable) hole in Launceston’s Covid defences:

Hopefully should not happen again. Folks going in and out of quarantine need to be presumed infectious until proven otherwise. Transport of possibly-infectious people needs to be done by specialists with appropriate PPE and vehicle disinfection.

All these white people, bamboozling other white people into thinking that it’s non-white people who are doing all the dreadful things, while it’s actually the white bamboozlers doing the dreadful things.

And then they wonder why folks hate white people. No, they don’t hate all white people - just fucking bloody asshole racist white people. I can’t wrap my head around this behavior and the so-called thinking that backs it up. The only back-up it brings to my mind is that of a full sewer pipe.

All of those are the scariest map-graphs I’ve ever seen. I can’t see it; is Puerto Rico on any of the virus map-graphs? I only see it in the poverty one. NM, I see it now.

(and I hadn’t realized the poverty one was a separate post - I thought it was another COVID-19 map-graph, which REALLY scared me.)

Well, we’re still a capitalist economy/society, so we either revolt or adapt. If I had all the answers, I’d be very wealthy. I am not very wealthy.
