Our Felonious Ex-President

It’s amazing how this whole idea of behaving ethically because it’s the right thing to do has fallen away.

But then there’s folks who want to justify not paying people what they’re worth with “A JOB WELL-DONE IS ITS OWN REWARD.” Well, geez, then gimme a bonus along with it, whatever you wanna call it!

no good deed goes unpunished…

But I hear ya - doing something GOOD because it MAKES ONE FEEL GOOD even if there is no profit to it was something I was raised to do. There are some ups to being a child of GD-era parents: Back then, people helped each other out because it was ingrained in them to do so. But the profit-motive has over come the altruistic-motive.

You ever notice that some folks react to “humanist” the same way they do to “socialist”?

It’s the whole extrinsic vs intrinsic motivation thing. Another person may opine you be altruistic, but if they make you it’s no longer altruism.

Well, yee-ah, lol…that’s like when the studios forced workers to donate to the GOP, no matter what their individual affiliations may’ve been.

I know, political donations in and of themselves are not altruistic, but the intention behind them may be, maybe?

This clown is so far up Trump’s ass it’s a miracle we can even see him.

LOLWUT?

I think he’s a believer in The Secret, or else he’s completely divorced from reality, and honestly, it is too close to call.

The scary part is how many people are ill-informed enough to believe it – which means that they will disregard anything from her now as illegitimate.

After all, the president removed her from the position, so how does she have the authority to do this?

(Yes, I know how it works. But a lot of Americans are very ill-informed and believe that the president has this kind of power and control).

From the comment thread, a good reminder that we’re talking about someone who would be under constant medical care in any other situation:

In the final stage of dementia I came home and asked my mom how the latest visit by the home health care worker went. “Oh, she doesn’t work here any more. She hasn’t been here in weeks.” I had just spoken with her in the drive way as she leaving. This is what happens.

Between that and the “when I took over” comment from the other day, I suspect Trump thinks governments are like private businesses. The whole “checks and balances” thing is lost on him. I could see him doing this to a VP who was going to talk to the board about tax filing irregularities, for instance.

I’m sure there are tapes in the oval office.

The kind of business you don’t want to do business with. “Nice country you got there, Zelensky. Too bad if anything were to happen to it.”

And definitely not the kind of business you want to be the subcontractor for, because guess who gets screwed?

Sadly, it’s limited to Ukraine. Happilly, it’s laid out in quite some detail.

Ukraine (not a crime), collusion (not a crime if you’re a Republican), and misuse of government servers (NOT a crime IF you’re a REPUBLICAN and the KING!!!).

This is giving me renewed hope for a post-Trump exploration of his presidency, entitled “Unpresidented.”
