“At a time when religious freedom is increasingly threatened and anti-Semitism is on the rise, we must always remember the atrocities of the Holocaust and teach our children that government should never impede our individual right to practice religion.”

Oh, that is so not the lesson of the Holocaust.
[edit]Feel like I should qualify that just in case… I say that mainly because discriminating against a religion is a very different thing from what he said, and also because of the problematic issue of Christianity in the Holocaust, and ethnic issues as well. Summing it all up as “impede[ing] our individual right to practice religion” just feels like it misses the point by miles.[/edit]

Along with Andrew Giuliani, […] the others named to the voluntary posts are Mitchell Webber, a lawyer in the Office of the White House Counsel, and Nick Luna, Trump’s “body man,” or personal attendant.
[…]
Luna is a former actor who featured in films like “Sammy and Sherlock Can’t Get Any.” The Internet Movie Database summarizes the movie as “A stoner couple spends the day trying to score weed in their dry suburban town.” His LinkedIn page says he trained in comedy.

They can pay the rest of our property taxes, while they’re at it. OOOH, that would be a great punishment for trumpco family members - along with being greeters at Walmart: assuming the property tax debt of US landowners who are on the brink of being taken over by the county…like me, lol. OF course that’s why I want it done.

In October, Elliott Broidy, once a top fundraiser for Donald Trump and the Republican Party, pleaded guilty to charges that he conspired to illegally lobby the Trump administration for a fugitive financier and the prime minister of Malaysia. The plea continued the descent of a controversial businessman and political operative who stepped down from a top Republican National Committee job in 2018 after the news broke that he had agreed to pay $1.6 million in hush money to a Playboy model whom he had impregnated during an extramarital affair.

Now there’s a new wrinkle to the Broidy case. He faces up to five years in prison in part because of what in retrospect seems to have been a dumb mistake. Broidy voluntarily gave the FBI emails from his and his wife’s accounts while seeking the bureau’s assistance in pursuing hackers who he claimed had stolen this material and leaked damaging details about his business dealings to the press. According to a just-unsealed ruling issued in June 2018 by Beryl Howell, the chief US District Judge in Washington, DC, nearly 1,400 pages of emails that Broidy provided to the FBI were subsequently used by the bureau in the investigation that led to Broidy’s guilty plea.

Oops.

Pentagon official response: A senior Defense Department official sought to downplay the move, calling it “a simple delay of the last few scheduled meetings until after the new year.”

  • “We had fewer than two dozen remaining meetings on the schedule today and next week,” the official said, adding that “the DoD staff working the meetings were overwhelmed by the number of meetings.”
  • "These same senior leaders needed to do their day jobs and were being consumed by transition activities.

I didn’t know the DoD had Gollum working on its staff. “It’s only a couple of meetings, no big deal… but it was so many meetings, we were just overwhelmed by them! Who could possibly keep up with so many… that it’s a minor, simple thing to delay?”

I wonder if they realized that Biden’s team might come across so much evidence that Cheeto was in Putin’s pocket that they needed time to hide it more thoroughly.
