I assume it’s a loyalty test (yes, emperor that is the best fitting suit ever to have covered your magnificently attractive body) because he’s afraid the loyalists will finally finish what they started with that home-made gallows, or because somebody has something ON him, that he’s afraid will get out.
Trump, Rudy, that kraken lady, and the pillow guy seem to have completely broken with reality. The rest are just doubling down on the bet that fascism works out really great for them, so why sweat the little lies?
