I have only 2 stipulations:
- We do this only if it does not make @LockeCJ’s life more stressful;
- There must be a puke emoji.

Looking for the thumbs-up emoji. Hang on.
There’s the bugger, got it.
I’m betting Mindy is on the case.
We do this only if it does not make @LockeCJ’s life more stressful; (don’t know why this didn’t quote - my bad)
I did predict this place getting a lot busier (which doesn’t make me any kind of prognosticator).
If anyone can help / recommend help to @LockeCJ in the form of moderation help or suchlike, I bet they would appreciate that.
Here’s a screenshot from the link in the OP:
This is correct.
I don’t think there should be any trust level issues with your account. PM me if you want some help troubleshooting this.
I’ve definitely been a bit busier these last couple of days, but I suspect things will reach an equilibrium. Offers of help are always appreciated, of course.
Turns out I was just being dense and didn’t see the button at the bottom! @Tammi_2.0 kindly set me straight
Now I can inflict all my cat pictures on everyone
As long as it’s sustainable and not headache inducing, I’d like them. But, I don’t want to do anything to make @LockeCJ’s life more difficult.
Will implementing said reactions create any more work/strain for you?
Is so, don’t worry about it.
If not, I’m good with the addition.
More pressingly, the entry field for responses seems a little wonky:
I can resolve it in the moment by enlarging the reply window; just thought you should know.
That’s an odd bug that’s been showing up off and on for a little while, we’ve been discussing over in Site Bugs but not sure what triggers it.
I’m experiencing that one too. I thought it was just Firefox on Linux for me, but if others are seeing it then I’ll see what I can do about it, if anything. I’ll follow up in the site bugs thread.
I really hated the reactions plugin at first and refused to use it other than to give hearts, but it grew on me after a while and now I actually miss it here.
Installing and configuring the plugin itself should be no big deal. Updating it is also similarly minor. I’m not sure what other issues I’d need to deal with. I’m good. Generally, I wouldn’t propose something if I wasn’t willing to manage the responsibility for it.
This is a very smart way to operate!
Everyone will get a chance to suggest their favorites.
It might also be useful to create some guidelines around generally agreed upon interpretations. For example, I’ve long held that the heart/like means Thank you for sharing rather than I agree with you, but I even have trouble liking some posts.
Similarly, I would probably use the puke emoji to express This makes me sick rather than You make me sick.
Sounds good to me!
I have to confirm the need for the puke emoji. The Elon Musk thread demands it.
Every reaction a puke emoji reaction…
Another guideline:
Sometimes people fumble the reaction. Always give the benefit of doubt instead of assuming.
Example of my own clumsiness: hitting the laugh when I meant to hit the cuss/angry
I suppose I should mention my old suggestion…
This, so much this. I know I’ve done it…
