Hmph, I’druther read about a city encouraging such behavior, with maybe some limits on what can be goolgly-eyed.

I’d be less worried about the adhesive damaging what looks like bronze statues and more about the environmental harm when they eventually fall off. This is why I don’t googly eye random things myself

They do look really funny. If the artist is circling back after a day or two and cleaning up, I doubt the adhesive is doing any harm.

I bought a couple sheets of little glow in the dark eyes stickers and had a blast with them.

isn’t an adhesive like Elmer’s Glue totally biodegradable? there has to be a way. Rubber cement? i dunno. seems like the city has better things to do than get wound up about a little humor.
