I think he may have been in custody for awhile in Romania when that was taken, which is why he looks even more unsavoury than usual (which is hard to do).

My explanation for Jedi is they were started by some kind of intelligent space polyps that only reproduce by budding. “You want to do what with another person? Let’s say no, that seems weird and like a whole mess waiting to happen.” If they had just recently opened up the organization to other species, that would explain why “but someone has a crush” was a disaster nobody was prepared for.

I highly recommend the same director’s (Radu Jude) Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn. A Romanian history teacher at an important school makes a sex tape with her husband which gets uploaded to Pornhub and the students and their parents see it and there is much controversy. An attack on the hypocrisies of Romanian society regarding not just sex (and one of the few features that I’ve seen that acknowledge the pandemic) it rather reminds me of Dušan (W.R. Mysteries of the Organism) Makavejev.
Contains some actual real sex, so uncensored copies may be a bit hard to find online (I saw it through my university’s Kanopy), but the censored copies were altered by the director himself and may be worthwhile alternate versions.
