There are people on tumblr who do give Frog and Toad some serious thought, all blessings to them.

The notes on that last post suggest that at least some people misread my reference to Mr. Toad of Toad Hall as a reference to Frog and Toad Are Friends, and upon consideration, that’s actually a crossover I don’t want to see, because Frog and Toad do not deserve that.

(Well, either that, or they honestly thought that Mr. Toad of Toad Hall from The Wind in the Willows and Toad from Frog and Toad Are Friends are meant to be the same character, which is an extremely funny mistake.)

Like, let me break this down with an illustrative example:
At one point in Frog and Toad Are Friends, Toad has a personal crisis because there’s a button missing from his jacket.
At one point in The Wind in the Willows, Mr. Toad’s friends are obliged to hold an intervention to persuade Mr. Toad to stop stealing cars.
