This womanâs influence has been a huge part of my entire life, and I never knew her name before now:
Someone us older types will rememberâŚ
Just came here to post that too! What a loss.
And a reminder that even in death, women are portrayed from the point of view of the men in their lives:
Yup.
My god have they not been listening at all???
Sure they have. And what theyâve been listening to sounds something like, âMr. Eastwood is a very powerful man in this industry, and he has a new film outâŚâ
Not really, no.
Well, weâre just a bunch of hens clucking, soâŚ
My head canon was that Laverne finally got out of Milwaukee, went to Hollywood, and became an amazing film director.
Growing up in Milwaukee as I did, itâs hard to explain what a huge effect this show and Happy Days had on my childhood.
Itâs easy to forget she also directed Awakenings.
I thought she was good as a director, certainly left her mark, and I am always for more women directors, but I think as Laverne she was so special.

Super Dave Osborne made his last leap:
This is a bad day to be 76.
I still remember seeing Bob Einstein as Officer Judy driving a motorbike onto the Smothers Brothers stage to arrest Liberace for playing the piano too fast.
Hard to mourn the person who released Muskrat Love into the world.
