Perhaps. I mean, “every” is a strong word.
Although this case was initiated less than two weeks ago, it has already
developed its own tortured procedural history. Plaintiffs have made multiple
attempts at amending the pleadings, and have had attorneys both appear and
withdraw in a matter of seventy-two hours. There have been at least two perceived
discovery disputes, one oral argument, and a rude and ill-conceived voicemail
which distracted the Court’s attention from the significant issues at hand.
I admit, I am intensely curious about this voicemail that’s mentioned.
I’m not saying “burn it down”…yet.
But, it was denied.
Thanks… I’d also found a reference elsewhere, but there’s so many changes in the case on both sides that it was pretty difficult to figure out who’s who. So, some associate elsewhere in the legal firm representing the State made a disparaging call to an attorney on Trump’s side. That’s… disappointing, and I guess might be related to why that legal team withdrew from the case.
Reading through the final dismissal, it looks like it was decided that the case was about two people who had their ballots rejected for some reason, and the counties they live in didn’t provide a path to fix the ballots so they could be accepted. But other counties did provide a path for similar ballots to be fixed. So… rather than demanding that their ballots be fixed, which might have been fair, they were demanding that all the other ballots should be tossed.
Oh I hope some of them fall for it!!!
Rather than requesting that their votes be counted, they seek to discredit scores of other votes, but only for one race. This is simply not how the Constitution works. […] in doing so, they ask the Court to violate the rights of over 6.8 million Americans. It is not in the power of this Court to violate the Constitution. […] Because this Court has no authority to take away the right to vote of even a single person, let alone millions of citizens, it cannot grant Plaintiffs’ requested relief.
Imagine being the judge having to explain that to full-grown adults, and not just normal people, but professional lawyers who are supposed to have some clue of at least something related to that sort of thing. Yet they’re arguing like a toddler. Poor judge must’ve suffered eyestrain and breathing problems from all the eye-rolling and sighing.
It’s almost like they’re trying to lose these cases on purpose…
I think they’re planning on sending competing slates of electors and carrying out a putsch in congress, where they currently have a 26-24 advantage. Which might make the Georgia runoff elections, one day before electoral votes are counted, a pretty big deal.
Almost as if someone thinks it’s a reality show and is trying to drive up ratings.
Well, my head is spinning now…
Maybe it’s just the smoke and mirrors to hide all the terrible shit Tmurp’s team is doing to the country in his final days.
Politico says
President Donald Trump appears to have cut ties with Sidney Powell, a key member of his legal team who also represents former national security adviser Michael Flynn in his long-running attempt to unravel a guilty plea for lying about his 2016 contacts with Russia.
The abrupt shake-up came in a terse Sunday-evening statement from the Trump campaign that offered no explanation for Powell’s removal.
But the New York Times says
It’s amazing that there seem to be so many ways to read the tea leaves.
I’ve seen speculation that it’s because she accused Kemp of accepting bribery (from Venezuela and the evil socialists) to allow fraud in the election, and declared that the Republican who didn’t make it into the run-off election was the real winner. And considering how that might split the Republican side at a very bad time, the speculation is as good as any… but as you say it’s kind of wild how vague they’re leaving it.
There’s no earthly way of knowing
which direction we are going
there’s no knowing where we’re rowing
or which way the river’s flowing…
Good read so far (I’m at the Ukrainian reaction). But whoever proofed this, if anyone, left a very distracting bracket in the middle of paragraph. Is it bad to think form and content are equally important?
Sharing, because: one, who’s in the admin is as important as who was voted on to lead it and two, this is the best description of the stock market you will ever find.
