There is a video embedded in the article but it returns a ‘video not available’ error, even on YouTube itself, so I have no idea what it is about or whether it even has anything to do with the article.
Lemme know when Tyson has a match with Ben Shapiro. That’s a boxing event I’d probably watch ( and my first ever).
Mom and I watched all of Muhammad Ali’s fights when I was a child. I still V much dislike boxing, but his matches were Boxing as Art.
We watched Sugar Ray Leonard’s fights - but not after he came back out of retirement - when I was older, and his bouts were also Boxing as Art. His comeback fights were depressing.
The most recent heavyweight match I caught was in 2008, on mom’s insistence. It was between Travis “Freight Train” Walker and Cristobal “Nightmare” Arreola! My friend Dog was visiting, and altho he’d never watched boxing before, even he wanted to see the bout for their nicknames alone! My pot dealer at the time dropped by, too. He’s a boxing fan, and his eyes grew huge when I told him the fighters’ names He got comfy next to Dog as I rolled a few, and we four watched the match together.
I don’t remember who won, but it was a really good fight.

The bottom two clubs in Scottish League One have 15 points deducted and are at least ten points adrift from 8th place and safety.
Ich liebe the edelweiss in dude’s tattoo!
After a crazy first innings for both.
Yes! It’s gone from such a bowlers’ game to a batting game, at least for India. I have tickets to the Brizzy test in about three weeks and it all feels up in the air, which is awesome.
I just saw the Jurel catch to dismiss Starc.
Awe.
Holy hell, that was pure instinct!
Well, game’s over before the end of day four. India’s second innings was a joy.
That was gorgeous! Wow!
Tangent:
I love that cricket and polo helmets are so much alike.
Oops! They sure used to be! Like those cricket helmets, they used to be made of the same materials as the modren showjumpers’ helmets, and the ventilation systems were about identical.
The helmets I saw worn in polo matches during the 90s had face guards more like those cricketers’ - the ones above must be relatively newfangled, and they sure are big and ugly.
Many of the polo helmets themselves are also big and ugly now:
The 1st two aren’t as bad as that 'un. Eeesh!
Looked at from those angles anyway, the 1st two - unlike the 3rd one - seem like they’re at least trying to imitate the shape & proportions of the classic, old school riding cap:
When I used to ride (as a little squirt, I only went because my sisters loved it) I used to wear similar to the last (with a green plastic frog* hidden in the lining).
*That and the time the pony rolled in the dung midden with me struggling to get off the saddle are about the only things I remember.
Love the frog!
Loathe the pony!
Amanda of Useless Farm fame explained that the shorter the pony, the closer s/he is to hell!
