I’m interested in having my life changed by mexican food…
That looks like the place that would do it.
The only two US cities with “gold” status are NY and Minneapolis.

Helsinki’s international airport is conveniently located within city limits
That is not true. Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is in Vantaa about 3km outside of Helsinki’s city limits… I think it isn’t even in Vantaa’s city limits not sure.
It’s 27min or 33min by train or 39min by bus or if want to be ripped off it’s about 24min by taxi from central Helsinki.
Bus and train cost the same 4,40€ (HSL ABC-ticket 90min) you can also use that ticket to get to the train station it works on trams, busses, metros, local trains and ferries.
no, but I’ve been up to the Westside Reservoir Park, which is presumably getting renamed after Franklin, although the article just calls it “Westside Park.” it’s really nice up there. you can go to the northwestern side of the beltline and you used to be able to cross the railroad tracks and go through some unused former industrial property over to the Bankhead Marta station which has a little park by it with a trail that continues north to this park. the connection from the beltline looks fenced off last time I was over there, but getting to that station can be done via roads easily enough.
I’m for it, obviously, but it’s indicative of the Xtreme Mountain Dew-ification of mtb that everything in the park is manmade. it’s really beautiful over there but heaven forbid you want to ride your bike on an unpaved trail (which it had and I did, last time I was over there.) the plan includes a hiking trail but it’ll be foot-only and if you respectfully ride it, Karen will get mad because there’s all kinds of mtb specific “trails” so why aren’t you using them?
otoh I bet the manmade stuff will be super fun to jump around on, so I look forward to that.
“Cargo cult urbanism”, nice!
Weird seeing a Škoda Transtech ForCity Smart ARTIC X54 (KLOY 601–629/MLPRV1) this close to the city center. They are usually found around the first ring road around Helsinki crossing to Vantaa and Espoo.

Which would be a good and proper response to it.

Excuse the cities non city detail. I’ll dig up some pictures of the odd fellows local in Vaasa, Finland, which blew my mind when I came across it.
Interesting.
Walkability — somewhere in Philadelphia
I only know this was somewhere near Quince Street and I was facing east.
As with all of the places above, the chances that you will have some terrible thing happen to you when you get on the subway is very, very low. Here is what will probably happen to you instead: You will be whisked anywhere in the five boroughs that you want to go, at any hour of the day or night, for less than three bucks. Not too shabby!
I blame the media outlets with a never-ending emphasis on crime reporting. They know fear-mongering gets more attention, so any incident on mass transit that feeds into the stereotype of violent crime will become breaking / headline news. Unlike other reports where the public rarely sees any follow-up, those are the ones they will put an effort into tracking what happens in the courts, too. I just used a search engine, and the results for “subway crime” started with a list of stabbings, beatings, and assaults. Then there are articles like this:
