I remember in summer camp when âWe Donât Need Another Heroâ hit, all of my campmates thought the song was great despite Tina Turner, while I thought the song wasnât really that special, but her performance made it work.
No real point to this reminiscence, but I still wonder what that was all about.

Tina can sell any song - get to the heart of even the most banal song and bring out the truth in it. Her abilities in putting across a song are similar to Lotte Lenyaâs - it is a pity she has never found her Brecht and Weill.
