Oh. I meant the customs issues, not the postal service. I thought he was worried about that.

Every country’s postal service HAS to better than ours. I once sent something to someone in Canada and our people at LAX sent it to India, where it sat there for a week. Then someone looked at the package and sent it along to its rightful destination.

And still the poets miss out

Given how many of the poems have vanished without trace, perhaps they are okay with that?

It was awarded the gold medal!!

My wife makes jewelry as a hobby. I showed her this as a possible locket. She was not impressed.

Maybe because she gives away everything she makes? And the locket is a little disturbing.

People say, “You could sell that!” But she has no interest in doing so.

i can relate!
monetizing that what you do for the love of the craft takes all the fun out of it, for me.

Right! She also claims she’d have to charge a fortune to make it worth the time.

yeah. that part.
my time and expertise is worth quite a lot. that is before factoring in materials.
i have been very fortunate in that i am able to fund my “hobby”, a practice i spent over 40 years in as a career.
it is all a hell of a lot more fun doing without concern for “pay”.
