An additional angle would be cases like Lord Randolph Henry Spencer-Churchill who was pretty much out of the marriage pool for the female British aristocracy because he had syphilis.

Wow! Those are so intricate and cool!

Though part of me wants them mounted on a pole or string something. The videos of the person (artist?) touching the painting makes me wince

For example, this display looks amazing
