Trump isn’t negotiating, he wants to broker a deal, and he wants something out of it for himself. As always. Which means he is not a neutral party acting in good faith for a - there, I’m saying it - common greater good. He’s in it first of all for himself and will side with whoever will promise him MORE. And the party that can promise him more is Russia. The deal he has in mind is Ukraine rolling over and giving Putin whatever of their territory he wants and getting mineral rights in return. Maybe leaving a truncated state controlled by Russia behind for appearances sake. This is not peace, this is a ceasefire followed by subjugation.
