He’s not the only one, either. He’s not wrong about grassroots building. It’s not an overnight thing, it will take time and effort to build up the grassroots, but it can and has been done before. And the work that has already been done and continues to be done WILL be ignored by the media, because it doesn’t fit into their narrative…

During Mr. Trump’s first term, President Emmanuel Macron invited him to the Bastille Day parade in 2017, hoping to maintain dialogue after the American leader pulled the United States out of the Paris climate agreement.
Mr. Trump returned home feeling good about the French — “He’s a great guy,” he said of Mr. Macron — and about military parades. So good that he wanted one of his own, he said.
That time, the Pentagon was able to dissuade him. This year is another story.
Western democracies generally avoid the glorification of their leaders. The absence of their images at parades signify the separation of military and political power.
It remains to be seen how the parade will unfold in Washington, but Mr. Kennedy of the Center for Strategic and International Studies believes that Mr. Trump may be seeking a personal boost.
“It’s possible that he hopes that in some ways people’s respect for the military and its capabilities rubs off on him,” Mr. Kennedy said.

The Business Plot was in my American History textbook and curriculum, but it was an advanced placement class. The trade off from the regular US history is that I don’t know the names or dates of specific war battles. Then again, I learned the conditions that led up to and fallout from all the wars.

I think being in a public position of power, publicly denouncing what is wrong and what’s happening has more chances to be viewed by the public than resigning (which is a one-off action) and then being replaced by someone sympathetic to the regime.
Also, regarding to what we can do, I think you intelligence services wrote a manual about that.
You may not be able to revert the tide, but you may bring it to a halt in a sludge of fake incompetence.
