As I’ve said before, if the Nobel Prize Committee lose their minds and award it to him, I expect to see every Nobel Prize Winner still alive to immediately return theirs. We need a list of them all and how to get at them.
And if they do it, from that day forward nobody should ever accept any Nobel Prize.

“President Trump demonstrated great strategic foresight and stellar statesmanship through robust diplomatic engagement with both Islamabad and New Delhi, which de-escalated a rapidly deteriorating situation,” Pakistan said in a statement. “This intervention stands as a testament to his role as a genuine peacemaker.”
Governments can nominate people for the Nobel peace prize. There was no immediate response from Washington. A spokesperson for the Indian government did not respond to a request for comment.
In May, a surprise announcement by Trump of a ceasefire brought an abrupt end to a four-day conflict between nuclear-armed foes India and Pakistan. Trump has since repeatedly said that he averted a nuclear war, saved millions of lives and grumbled that he got no credit for it.
Pakistan agrees that US diplomatic intervention ended the fighting, but India says it was a bilateral agreement between the two militaries. In a phone call with Trump last week, the Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, had made it “absolutely clear” that hostilities ceased only after Pakistan requested a ceasefire, and that no third-party mediation had taken place, said India’s foreign secretary, Vikram Misri.
Every time I see news about this, I wonder how far away from the roofline they were installed. There’s so much incompetence in that cast of clowns, that I wouldn’t be shocked if they fall over during the next big storm. Are we sure they won’t attract lightning? Should we have stand next to them and check?
i’ve vaguely read that the dominant “uhhhhh…” issue is that (the helicopter known as) “marine one” couldn’t safely negotiate the ‘yuge’ flags if there were any wind.
I saw an article somewhere that says she’s falling back on the traditional “The media took my comments out of context” comment, and is fully in line with Trump’s view. So, basically, “Look! It’s Halley’s comet!”.
I perhaps should have specified “credible information” or said “ostensible source for all information,” and there’s also a difference between information and delusion - there’s the possiblity Trump is simply deciding on “facts” based on what he’d like to be true. But it shifts the question - if Trump isn’t getting his “information” ultimately from US intelligence, who is it coming from? If a president is being manipulated by (potentially foreign) lies and propaganda into starting a war, that’s a pretty fucking huge story, and the press is ignoring it.
Yeah, which is weird because by muddying the waters the way they are, by being indistinguishable from (non-state) actors pretending to be them in order to commit crimes, they increase the likelihood that violence will eventually be done to them by frightened/confused people. But I think they want it - they want the chaos, they even want the violence because it becomes an excuse for an escalation.
I was just watching a video from LA, of two ICE* agents who ran after, tackled and knocked to the ground some random guy in a parking lot. As soon as they realized he was a citizen, they just stood up and walked away (with a parting “why did you run?**”). Chased a guy, used his fear of the ambiguous situation as justification to attack him, then walked away, no consequences for violating his rights and no way for him to hold them accountable. (I mean, who even were they?)

**Yeah, why did he run from two masked, unidentified guys who were chasing him out of nowhere? So suspicious! Hell, even if he had identified them as ICE agents, the recent reports of random (brown) US citizens being abused, detained, even arrested by ICE makes running a reasonable response.
As a diehard life-long Liberal, and stuck fast to a higher moral ground and joined at the hip to the facts as they appear, I never said Trump stole the 2024 election—but I always thought it.
I mean, we all know the election wasn’t fair thanks to everyday rigging like gerrymandering and voter suppression. None of them are or the Republicans would never win. So I suppose the question is if they did anything extra illegal.
The voting machines in question were manufactured by Election Systems & Software (ES&S), and their software certified by Pro V&V.

The director [Cobb] of a federally accredited testing lab [Pro V&V] that approved changes to voting systems ahead of the 2024 election told Newsweek that they were not “of any significance.”
Pro V&V approved four updates on voting machine software and firmware between March and September 2024, according to a February post on the SMART Elections Substack page.
All of the updates were put through as “de minimus,” meaning that no additional testing is required for the updates to be installed. That "increases the risk of malware coming in on these updates," according to SMART Elections.
The changes were not minor, according to the Dissent in Bloom Substack. “These weren’t minor tweaks,” according to a post on the page. “They touched ballot scanners, modified audit files, and even affected machines flagged by CISA. But by calling them ‘de minimis,’ they avoided full testing, public scrutiny, and transparency.”
Asked about the reports, Cobb told Newsweek that “most of these articles are completely made up.”
SMART Elections and Dissent in Bloom Substack also noted that Pro V&V’s website began to stop working in the aftermath of the election.
The website “collapsed into a hollow shell” shortly after the 2024 election and, as of this month, is still “a single barren page,” according to Dissent in Bloom.
