Just heard from our niece who is in the Peace Corp in Zambia. She is preparing to be evacuated if the Asshat Admin succeeds in cutting funding for them. She has no money, and her parents likewise. We may need to pony up several thousand to get her home if it all goes sideways. We have it, and i don’t mind, but holy shit what a mess!

Today, it was my great honor to sign an Executive Order banning the chemical castration and medical mutilation of innocent children in the United States of America. Our Nation will no longer fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support so-called “gender affirming care,” which has already ruined far too many precious lives. My Order directs Agencies to use every available means to cut off Federal financial participation in institutions which seek to provide these barbaric medical procedures, that should have never been allowed to take place!

ICE is probably feeling pretty cocky right now. I would expect kindergarten teachers who protested in the BLM protests to get “accidentally” swept up in the immigration sweeps even if their ancestors came over on the Mayflower. Quotas and all that.
ETA: the context is that the building that was surrounded with peaceful protesters for over a year in downtown Portland was ICE/CBP. Until the feds brought in reinforcements, it was ICE/CBP clashing with protesters every night and renditioning US citizens in unmarked vans.
