I’m not sure I like the idea of Governors- who are often more centrist or conservative- to have the power to remove local leaders on a whim.
There are other levers to make him follow the law first.

Maybe Anonymous will save US democracy?
Their recent video, a “dire warning to MAGA,” is included early on here.
The head of the Office of Ethics was just fired by Trumpy.
Unfortunately, we’ve been there since the USSC made that ruling. It’s been slow rolling since Biden actually believed in American Democracy and therefore didn’t abuse it.
But the boulder found its steep incline and is gaining speed. I am fearful about what happens next.
I think the script kiddies are in over their heads there. This isn’t Scientology, these people have law enforcement and military on their side and they will use it, inside and outside US borders
It may be.
Lee Zeldin is the biggest piece of shit. He was the State Senator for my district in NY.
I noticed this morning (maybe it was the same last night?) that if I zoom out a bit, the body of water becomes “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”
(Side note: For the sake of comparison, I looked at the Persian Gulf in Google Maps, which upon zooming in a bit becomes “Persian Gulf (Arabian Gulf)”. I have a Lonely Planet book from when I traveled there, and the text & maps call it “The Gulf”)
That’s how I see it, at that zoom level. If I zoom out (fly higher?) that’s when the name changes.
It means all his businesses that do work in foreign countries have been paying (and receiving) bribes for years, which was against the law. But, gee, now it isn’t. Pure unadulterated projection. How fucking convenient.
Impeach the motherfucker. ENOUGH
They should, but I don’t see that happening with the current congress no matter what. Things are getting right dicey in the US of A.
This poll and some other similar ones that recently hit the news are depressing as hell. Even accounting for a significant margin of error, the fact that anywhere near half of poll respondents think that he’s doing a good job right now means that a whole lot of people aren’t paying enough attention to the specifics of what he’s doing. (Or if they are paying attention and still like it, that’s even worse)
I think this will change once enough people start feeling the economic pain from his disastrous policies, but it really shouldn’t take economic calamity for people to turn against this guy.
If there’s any kind of silver lining to this polling it’s that his approval rating is lower than Biden’s was at this point, and that he’s still in the so-called “honeymoon period” following the election which tends to be the high-water mark for approval because people don’t fully assign blame to the new president for things like high prices right away.
i’ve really nothing but uhm… irrepressible hopefulness? for this assertion, but CBS is currently in litigation with trump-town and would benefit financially from some trump ‘beneficence’; consequently if they would ever jigger a “approval poll” in his favor (and i can speak with some experience how many ways political polls can be ‘adjusted’ to give any desired result) they would likely tend to do so now. that is, i’m really skeptical about this particular approval poll, if for no other reason it is discounted by several other approval polls which show trump actually ‘under water’ (more disapproval than approval) -sigh-
Same here in Canada.
