i note that florida is the only one with “head injury” as the main owie.
that explains a lot.
I wonder if more serious scrapes happen in Hawaii, or if people there actually see doctors for small injuries.
Surf rash?
I was thinking coral and lava rock walls scrapes. Hawaii has lava rock walls everywhere! They’re pretty low and I could see people hopping over them and getting scrapes.
Interesting that Michigan, AKA The Mitten, has such a high number of hand injuries.
Mom had at least three what required hospital visits. Two from knifely kitchen mistakes; they were always followed by a portentious “Uh-oh.” Don’t recall either instance’s requiring stitches - they butterflied 'em.
Another one was due to being thrown by a very nasty spotted pony: she hung on to the reins (don’t do that when parting company!), and the buckle at their center bit and chewed up her poor little fingers sumpin’ fierce. Gloves may have helped, but not much…except for thick & stiff leather/suede ones that are for construction workers, not riders. I think the doc re-located one of her fingers, and had to clean and wrap a couple more.
New Jersey and Maryland, sprained hand…Delaware with rotator cuff sprain…
Yeah, that tracks.
Are you suggesting that Mormonism is caused by suffocation?
Maybe they are confusing “insufferable” with “suffocaction”?
Or maybe the magical underwear is more constricting than I imagined?
We all know Nebraska is empty
That is weird.
It might be a combination of living at higher altitudes, and not having hot tea for asthma attacks.
The frustrating thing about this is that they are very opaque about how they actually ranked this list. For instance, BMW built some 400K SUVs out of their Spartanburg, SC factory in 2024 but they aren’t even in the top 80. (Maybe because it’s because the engines and transmissions generally come from Germany and/or Austria? Since they don’t break it down at all, I can only guess.)
Here’s where that reaction would really come in handy.
I’d rather have the reaction these days/weeks/months but that’s just me being selfish.
What the heck are people suffocating on out here??
Also, how is Arizona’s not burns, either direct sunburns or burns from touching hot metal or pavement? People there are essentially living inside a furnace.
