The Nazification of America

DeSantis sent a statement to NPR and other news outlets confirming that the migrants were transported by Florida under a state program that was funded by the legislature earlier this year. The statement reads in part: “States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration.”

As I said elsewhere, Mass has the money and also, importantly, the morals and willingness to use it to help people and build a better society, unlike Florida or Texas. They’ve been taking in immigrants and refugees for over 400 years; this is no big deal.

On top of lying to the migrants at every turn, the assholes made every attempt to make it impossible for these people to comply with immigration laws and stay in the US.

The cruelty’s the point.

It’s like watching years and years of familial abuse being taken out on anyone and everyone that these people can reach.

But, it’s nothing new, more’s the pity.

DeSantis was born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Karen (née Rogers) and Ronald Daniel DeSantis.[2] He is of Italian descent, with all of his great-grandparents born in Italy.[3] His maternal great-great-grandfather Salvatore Storti immigrated to the United States from Italy in 1904, eventually settling in Pennsylvania. His great-great-grandmother Luigia Colucci joined her husband in the United States in 1917.[4]

A Texas sheriff has certified that the nearly 50 migrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis were victims of a crime. That certification is a key step in qualifying them for a special visa they would not have otherwise been eligible for.

Texas’ Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar expeditiously signed certification forms for all of the migrants, according to Boston-based immigration attorney Rachel Self, who went down to San Antonio to obtain the paperwork.

“Based upon the claims of migrants being transported from Bexar County under false pretenses, we are investigating this case as possible Unlawful Restraint,” Salazar
said in a statement to GBH News. “We have submitted documentation through the federal system to ensure the migrants’ availability as witnesses during the investigation.”

I’m still trying to figure out how POC think that they make a difference with the kind of people who use Parler. It’s so…Uncle Tom.

Racists themselves have race. People forget that, especially the racists themselves. They like to think it’s just everyone else that is different. And they’ll shoot themselves as many times as it takes to hit those ‘others’.

This would censor schools, libraries, … and apparently health services, courts, etc. … so that no federally-funded group could provide appropriate resources or support to younger children.

If they get federal funds, then they can’t try to stop bullying.

If they get federal funds, then they can’t try to help kids identify and escape sexual abuse.

The policy also sends a message: that the Republican Party does not want us to exist.

I guess they think it’ll be a popular message.
