Can confirm the strong bad taste of fluoxetine from a human point of view. Accidentally chewed a capsule once and the contents were the nastiest, most bitter and awful thing I’ve ever tasted.

I showed my wife the picture of your cat and we both agreed that she was very cute and looked quite upset.

My wife asked what kind of medicine it was and I repeated your explanation. Giving liquids/gels to cats is really complicated. A vet told us to try using capsules for drops. So I bought the smallest one on the market.

We try to get liquid forms of all medications, for us, it’s easier. We even have a bottle of liquid gabapentin on hand for emergencies.

We’ll even take subcutaneous versions if they’re available because a shot in the scruff of the neck is a breeze compared to pills and syringes.

Transdermal(rub on the ear) is an option we always ask about.

Mrs. Seizure Kitty is taking a healthy dose of steroids and anti seizure medicine in a liquid form. It’s close to 6ml of liquid twice a day.

If your using a pill shooter with those capsules be careful, in our experience if the gel gets wet they seal up tight in the tip of the shooter making it difficult and dangerous to shoot it in.

ChiliDog has to have felimizole 2x daily. we crush the tablets in a pill crusher, then mix with 2.5ml water and suck it up into a syringe. it goes down easily and she is only mildly perturbed.
liquid gaba is the only way she can go to the vet. Chili’s doctor won’t see her if she isn’t drugged - notes in her file and everything.

We had to give old man felimazole twice a day, we used the pill shooter but there were times we thought we got it down and then he’d walk away and spit it out.

We was a tricky old man.

Everyone, allow me to introduce Matilda. She came to us from a semi-feral colony. She was sickly all her life and needed to be rescued, for some medicine and a cushier gig. Auto shop cats get consistent food, but not much else. Our cats live a life of ease!

Her eyes were so deep in the sockets we couldn’t tell her eye color. This was January 25th.

She got oral antibiotics and some goo for her eyes, and, a lot of primo food. Now, in March, she’s in good shape and ready to have her hysterectomy next week. Her eyes are a lovely golden color, and her stripes are divine.

It’s difficult to get photos because she is always in motion, and a high velocity. I have lots of tabby colored blurs, though.

They’re coming along nicely. Still supervised, they rubbed noses, I got nervous and was prepared to separate but nope they just got in their bed.

Tux has been spayed, it happened yesterday. No complications. Fluffy is still hanging around, but I can’t tell if she’s w/kits or not.
