Great job making it look like the cat is glued to the wall

We’ve been having trouble getting Mr. Feral’s diabetes under control, it’s better but still too high.

The vet recommended we try a continuous glucose monitor. So far he’s tolerating it.

But, as a tech and data junkie, I gotta say I’m not too impressed with the Libre app. It’s very good at the continuous monitoring but when it comes to pinpointing levels at specific times it’s very difficult to read the graphs.

I’m going to wait to have a final opinion until I get a full week of data.

The monitor is way easier than drawing blood ourselves.

FWIW, one of my oldest friends (not a cat) has that monitor for his Type 1 diabetes and he speaks highly of it.

Not sure if it’s the same app to read the results, but I would have to assume there aren’t many other apps to connect to that monitor.

Libre actually has 3 different apps, I had to figure out which app to install.

The other problem is the sensor can only be linked to one device at a time, that’s understandable though. There is a website you can log into to see the data but there is no way to force a sync and I can’t figure out how it syncs.

We have all weekend to figure it out and I did read that we should use a device that stays home with the cat so we can check while we’re working.

Libre knows vets are using the monitor, I wonder how long it will take them to taylor an app for pets.

It’s only temporary until we figure out why he’s having such big swings in his numbers.

All that being said it is very cool technology and way better than pricking him twice a day.

Your cat is in good company. I saw a woman on the train this morning with one of those attached under her arm.

Salmiaki-kun did not enjoy socializing at the
Rescue yesterday. Everytime I tried to put him with the other buns, he did this:

It was weird. All he wanted to do was cuddle next to us on the couch. Four hours. At home he doesn’t want to interact, but at the rescue he didn’t want to leave our side.

Then, there was the ride home:

I’ve heard that rabbits can be territorial so maybe he’s keeping an eye out for you guys and/or claiming his people.

When you buttle for a wee hairy terrier thingamajig, there is no need for a barometer.

Is it the same rescue you’ve taken him to before? Was he scared you were going to leave him there?

We’re sitting here watching a little TV before my 8pm bedtime when our neighbor calls.

She said there was a bunny in the same place on her lawn for a couple hours could I go and check on it.

Okay but if it’s dead you’re digging the hole.

It was just chillin’ and let me get really close until it ran away, quick like a bunny.

It was laying on top of a drainage grate, I think it liked the depression in the grass.

Is it hot out? The air might have been nicely cool on the bun’s belly

Today when I walked past the fireplace store, the resident kitty was again in evidence. This time its little bed/house had been placed by the window. The cat was curled up in the house when I saw it, but it saw me and came out of the house to greet me and paw at the window.
