No permanent nerve damage! She’ll be in the splint through Friday to help support her as she heals, but then the stitches and splint can go.
My goal in life is to find a man who looks at me they way my cat does.
I thought it was just my husband’s hydrocodone talking, but there is for real something living under the house. Vote on what it is, if you’d like:
I was thinking possum myself, and I see someone more knowledgeable than me has made that suggestion already.
I voted possum, because even though we’re well north of you, we’ve had them trying to break in under our house, for years. Skunks too. The skunks were worse though, for the obvious reason, and they are why we cemented over their break-in spot. The smell in the living room (the room above the hideout) only lasted a couple of months…
Good luck!
I voted for the raccoon, but i really went back and forth between that and the possum.
I don’t do Twitter, but I’m betting raccoon.
I personally think raccoon. It sounds to me like what we’re hearing is the animal turning around to leave the area, and possums aren’t that flexible on the ground.
To be fair… that’s the weirdest place in the south… and the best place.
Amazing slo-mo of a Siamese cat jumping and playing:
Just read a description of Maine Coon cats as the “dogs of the cat world, because of their size and personality.”
Pfft. Dogs are the Main Coon cats of the canis world.
Edit to clarify quote.
Although Felix is an adopted former alley kitten, he is (almost) strictly an indoor cat now…
Except that he DOES like to go out on the front porch. As soon as he’s out there, he will drop and start rolling around, getting dirty and meowing.
The big oaf always knows which door I’m about to enter the house through, and always meets me there, slipping out front if I don’t block him.
(I was too slow with the camera to catch him belly-up in this shot)
cat puzzle²
It’s sweet when cats help, though sometimes they aren’t super helpful.
They seem to be quite enjoying the puzzle and the box.
I like that! Knitted, not crocheted, right?
Nope, sorry, crocheted! It was a baby blanket for my niece, but my sister never used it when she was a baby because she didn’t want to mess it up. So, it’s still pristine, though possibly there are a few cat hairs embedded in the knots. Good thing they are a cat family also!
I wish I had a photo of the finished blanket, but I am apparently not smart enough to have take one. Just the one with Shorty helping. At least 85% of my photos are of cats, or plants.
Really lovely!
Mina is out of the cast and cone. She still has a 3-inch gash that looks like a raw steak. I thought it would look more like a surgery wound, but it doesn’t. She’s using it more, and even used her paw to grab my hand to keep me petting her.
