Aw… that nose needs a boop!

At the emergency vet. My husband was walking the dog this morning and they were mauled by a pitbull they’ve had trouble with in the past. They’re both in the hospital. He just needs his hands and legs sewn up. The dog likely needs her whole front leg reconstructed.

Holy shit, that’s terrible. Hope everything works out ok. Best wishes to both of them!

Christ, that’s awful. Love to all, especially doggo and husband. Lots of gentle pats and cuddles to doggo while she recovers. And to infundihusband as well!

That’s horrible news… I really hope everyone comes out of it ok.

…and that the vet takes care of both of them well. (sorry, I couldn’t help myself!)

Oh, and to you too, of course!

Obviously you have to worry about your family right now, but I hope when you have a moment you report this to the local Animal Care & Control, because this dog is a proven danger to both pets and humans.

We’re released! We have a police report, I’ve filed the claim on Mina’s insurance, and we’ve retained a lawyer to recoup Mina’s deductible and my husband’s deductible, and my time in dealing with this.

Sucks that you have to do it, but at least hopefully you’ll get the money you’re owed and they will have to face the music for keeping such a dangerous dog.

Hopefully. This dog had tunneled under a fence to attack our previous dog. That was back in 2018. They’ve had two years to fix their fence or fix their dog. That is enough time. I don’t want anything bad to happen to the dog, but I don’t want anything bad to happen to any number of dogs in our neighborhood, either.

I’m so sorry. That’s horrible.

They didn’t give you a Cone of Shame?

These come off tomorrow. Because there were no breakages, it’s really just to help control the swelling and keep the wound clean. If the swelling looks well-controlled tomorrow, she won’t need bandages at all. Otherwise, they clean and change and see her back Monday.

Poor uncomfortable puppers…

It turns out she has nerve damage. She needs to be splinted until Tuesday to allow the inflammation to go down so the nerve can heal. Doctor said it’s just “traumatized”, not torn or severed. Good thing we have insurance, each of these visits is almost a hundred bucks.

She’s much improved today. Not putting as much weight as I’d like on the limb, but energetic and more “herself”. Took 5 shits on her morning circuit of the yard, all in my garden.

Even now, after I’ve spent 8 hours and counting at emergency vets with her, this dog does not like me.

Poor thing!

I’m sorry. That’s not very fair of her… :pensive:
