Aw⌠that nose needs a boop!
At the emergency vet. My husband was walking the dog this morning and they were mauled by a pitbull theyâve had trouble with in the past. Theyâre both in the hospital. He just needs his hands and legs sewn up. The dog likely needs her whole front leg reconstructed.
Holy shit, thatâs terrible. Hope everything works out ok. Best wishes to both of them!
Christ, thatâs awful. Love to all, especially doggo and husband. Lots of gentle pats and cuddles to doggo while she recovers. And to infundihusband as well!
Thatâs horrible news⌠I really hope everyone comes out of it ok.
âŚand that the vet takes care of both of them well. (sorry, I couldnât help myself!)
Oh, and to you too, of course!
Obviously you have to worry about your family right now, but I hope when you have a moment you report this to the local Animal Care & Control, because this dog is a proven danger to both pets and humans.
Weâre released! We have a police report, Iâve filed the claim on Minaâs insurance, and weâve retained a lawyer to recoup Minaâs deductible and my husbandâs deductible, and my time in dealing with this.
Sucks that you have to do it, but at least hopefully youâll get the money youâre owed and they will have to face the music for keeping such a dangerous dog.
Hopefully. This dog had tunneled under a fence to attack our previous dog. That was back in 2018. Theyâve had two years to fix their fence or fix their dog. That is enough time. I donât want anything bad to happen to the dog, but I donât want anything bad to happen to any number of dogs in our neighborhood, either.
Iâm so sorry. Thatâs horrible.
They didnât give you a Cone of Shame?
These come off tomorrow. Because there were no breakages, itâs really just to help control the swelling and keep the wound clean. If the swelling looks well-controlled tomorrow, she wonât need bandages at all. Otherwise, they clean and change and see her back Monday.
Poor uncomfortable puppersâŚ
It turns out she has nerve damage. She needs to be splinted until Tuesday to allow the inflammation to go down so the nerve can heal. Doctor said itâs just âtraumatizedâ, not torn or severed. Good thing we have insurance, each of these visits is almost a hundred bucks.
Sheâs much improved today. Not putting as much weight as Iâd like on the limb, but energetic and more âherselfâ. Took 5 shits on her morning circuit of the yard, all in my garden.
Even now, after Iâve spent 8 hours and counting at emergency vets with her, this dog does not like me.
Poor thing!
Iâm sorry. Thatâs not very fair of herâŚ
